01 Who we are

Escordium Marketing, S.A. is a software, AI and research studio registered in Praia, Cabo Verde. For the personal data described on this page, Escordium is the data controller: we decide what is collected and what happens to it.

This policy covers this website only. Work we do under a signed proposal is governed by that agreement and, where we process data on your behalf, by the data processing terms attached to it.

02 What we collect

We only collect what the site actually asks for. There is no tracking pixel, no advertising tag and no profiling.

From the project form

Your name, email address, company or product name, the practice you selected, your message, and a record that you ticked the consent box together with the time you did.

From the newsletter form

Your email address, and nothing else.

From email you send us

Whatever you choose to put in it, including your email address and signature block.

From our server logs

Our hosting provider records standard request data: IP address, user agent, referring page, the URL requested and a timestamp. We use these for security and to diagnose faults, not to build a picture of you.

We do not ask for and do not want special-category data (health, beliefs, biometrics) or payment card details through this website. Please do not send them through the form.

03 Why we use it, and on what basis

Answering your enquiry

To reply to you and prepare a proposed Phase 1. Basis: your consent, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services.

Sending the newsletter

To send you the monthly email you asked for. Basis: your consent, withdrawable at any time.

Keeping the site up and safe

To block abuse, filter spam and fix faults. Basis: our legitimate interest in a working, secure site.

Meeting legal obligations

Accounting, tax and responding to lawful requests. Basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models. Our own model training runs on data our clients supply under contract, never on enquiries sent through this site.

04 Who processes it with us

Three third parties are involved in running this site. Each one only sees what it needs.

Formspree

Receives your form submission and forwards it to us by email, and screens it for spam. Formspree Inc. is based in the United States.

Google Fonts

Your browser loads our typefaces directly from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details as part of that request. No cookie is set for it. See our cookie policy.

GoDaddy

Hosts the site and keeps the server logs described above.

We may also share your details with professional advisers, or with an authority, where the law requires it. Nobody else gets them.

05 International transfers

Escordium operates from Cabo Verde and works with clients across Africa, Europe and the Americas. The providers above are based in the United States, so data you send through this site will leave Cabo Verde.

Where a transfer involves personal data of people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or on the provider's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, as the case may be. You can ask us which applies to a given provider.

06 How long we keep it

Project enquiries

24 months from our last exchange with you. If the enquiry becomes an engagement, the contract's retention terms take over.

Newsletter subscriptions

Until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not email you again by mistake.

Email correspondence

As long as the business relationship needs it, then in line with our accounting obligations.

Server logs

Held by our hosting provider under its own retention schedule. We do not export them, and we never link them to anything sent through the forms.

07 Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct it if it is wrong or incomplete.
• Delete it, where we have no overriding reason to keep it.
• Restrict or stop a particular use of it.
• Hand it over in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Stop sending you the newsletter — every issue carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply asking us to stop.

Withdrawing consent is always free and takes effect going forward; it does not undo processing that already happened lawfully.

Email info@escordium.com with "privacy request" in the subject. We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your data to someone else.

If you think we have got it wrong, you can complain to the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados in Cabo Verde, or to the data protection authority where you live. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.

08 How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Enquiries land in a mailbox that only the senior team can open, and access to it uses two-factor authentication. We keep the number of copies small on purpose: fewer places to protect, fewer places to leak.

No system is perfect. If a breach affects your personal data and puts you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay.

09 Children

This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details, email us and we will delete them.

10 Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use data you already sent us, we will say so directly — by email where we have your address, and with a notice on the site.
